Chopard Mille Miglia Chronograph Brings American Racing Stripes to a 50-Piece Edition
A US-only, 50-piece Mille Miglia chronograph pairs white racing stripes with a 40.5mm Lucent steel case and 54-hour automatic movement.

Chopard’s latest Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph takes its visual cue from a defining American motorsports detail: the racing stripe. Limited to 50 pieces for the US market, the American Racing Stripes edition applies the motif to a familiar three-register design built around the Italian endurance rally that gives the collection its name.

The reference point reaches back to Briggs Cunningham’s Le Mans cars in the early 1950s. Their white bodies carried two blue stripes from front to rear. By the 1960s, the colors had flipped, and white stripes over blue became a look associated with cars such as the Shelby Daytona and Dodge Viper. Chopard carries that later color combination onto the watch’s dial.
A familiar racing layout with a new dial
The dark blue lacquered dial has two white lacquered stripes running vertically down its left side. They pass behind the chronograph minutes register at 9 o’clock, making the graphic part of the dial’s layout rather than a separate accent. Bright red appears on the three chronograph hands and the “1000 Miglia” logo, adding a reference to the race’s signature color.

The design sits within the established Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph format: a retro-inspired three-register display, pump-style pushers and a tachymeter scale for reading speed over a measured distance. The sapphire crystal uses a glassbox profile that curves over the scale, giving the watch a more rounded, vintage-style outline from the side.

Its 40.5mm case is made from Chopard’s Lucent steel, a proprietary alloy described as largely recycled. Chopard says the material has a gold-like luster and greater scratch resistance than standard 316L steel. Those details give the case a distinct finish while retaining the practical character expected of a sports chronograph.

The navy blue rubber strap echoes the tread pattern of a 1960s Dunlop racing tire, a recurring Mille Miglia design feature. It connects the watch to the collection’s automotive references without changing the fit or function of the chronograph. The case is rated to 50 meters of water resistance; that figure describes the watch’s rating and shouldn’t be read as a recommendation for aquatic use.
Movement and caseback
Inside is a decorated, COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement based on an ETA caliber. It offers a 54-hour power reserve. The exhibition caseback shows the movement through a sapphire window, alongside a colored decal combining the American flag with a checkered flag. The display continues the edition’s theme while making the mechanical movement visible.

Chopard has been the official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia since 1988, and the watch line draws on the rally’s long history of endurance racing. This edition broadens that story with a design rooted in American car culture, while retaining the collection’s established case shape, chronograph display and tire-inspired strap.
Availability and specifications
The American Racing Stripes edition is limited to 50 watches and is offered only in the US market. It doesn’t appear to be available for online purchase; prospective buyers will need to contact Chopard to locate a dealer allocated a piece. The price hasn’t been listed. Comparable Mille Miglia models in the same family are priced from $10,800 to $11,700, which provides context but doesn’t confirm the price of this edition.

For buyers drawn to racing watches, the defining detail here is the stripe treatment and its historical reference. The compact run, US-only availability and unlisted price make dealer access the practical next step; the published specifications offer a clear sense of the watch’s size and mechanical package while that information remains pending.
